Since i do not want to rock the boat can i wait till Sep 1st before i submit the address change else they would probably notice why i changed to a different city?

They might be sending second FP notice every 15mnths of first/consecutive FP's done once it expires in their system..wait for that notice and dont worry about it now..

What makes you think in this Direction ?
nothing seems to be moving forward...and this is the last week for Aug 17th...so the more # of rejections/denials without possibility to reapply/re-appeal the less burden or number of applications they will have to process...my thoughts!

Please advice on the usage of A number
I came here as student and OPT before, the OPT had a A number
In my approved I-140 i had a A number, both the numbers are different
While filing the forms for 485/EAD/AP and I-693 ( medical report ) i saw a field for A number
Which number must i put in the field

Do you have I-140 approval notice with you? If so, A# is going to be there just above the Beneficiary name. Nowadays, USCIS is assigning the A# when they approve I-140. This is what i got from my attorney Rajiv Khanna. Do not listen to them who says it comes only when I-485 is approved. Once I-485 is approved, there is no need to have A# number otherthan you want to apply for Citizenship or keep it for records. So, it is useful only while applying 485 or EAD or AP.

Hello All,
I have an Appointment in Halifax Canada but I was wondering if I am eligible for the following
1 ) My H1B visa expired on 12/09/2006 from Company A
2) I have I94 from Company B and I want H1B visa from Company B
In Halifax appointment letter it says that they "issue visas for residents of our Consular district and for state-side revalidations only".
I am from India and I going to Canada on Visitors visa.
Please let me know.

As far as I believe, you should not have any problem whatsoever in getting your H1B visa from Company B stamped in your passp
ort. You need to carry all relevant documents related to H1B (including old H1B approvals, old passport (if any), employment credentials, proof of address, W2 forms, etc) so that you're not caught unawares during the H1B visa validation process. Before you board the flight back to the US with your new H1B visa, the US Immigration/Customs counter will issue you a new I-94.
God forbid, even if they deny your H1B visa from your new employer, you should still be able to return to the US on the expired H1B visa since you made an honest H1B visa trip.

I think you need to show visa proof when you go to most of the DMVs.
But one of friend renewd his lic(PA DMV) without showing H1 or EAD. He renewed it online.
When I tried to renew my licence online it prompted me that my citizenship requires me to go to DMV local office personally.

Why is the issue date matter?
When was the birth registered? If it says recently, then you should go thru the process.
If the birth was registered proerly at right time, you will not have problems.
Reissuance of birth certificates are very common. Expecting one to own 27 years old document is ridiculous.
The birth was registered just two months later -- but from what I've been reading the issue date (being so recent) does raise some eyebrows as well. The question posed is ... why haven't you tried to get a 'correct' birth certificate issued so far and only got it issued last month for US immigration purposes.
To be really safe, our lawyer is requesting we get affidavits sworn as well.

BTW....one can now apply directly to NSC or TSC as per the state they are applying from. This memo became effective June 21 and is mandatory starting July 30.

Now that I do have receipts- should I go ahead and stop payment on the 2nd set??
I would wait until your money is actually deducted from the bank account to be 100% sure that there is no issue with regards to your checks.Then possibly you could ask for stop payments on your check.
Actually I have read before in UsCIS site that they will try to resubmit the check one more time before rejecting or accepting the forms.So hopefully they will resubmit it again, and since you have reversed your stop payment everything should be OK with your july2 filing. Again it is very reassuring that you have got the Receipts, and that is a sign that it was indeed properly filed, because they reject anything which was improperly filed.
In my case the money is already deducted from the bank account, and I have check cashed images online. so I have asked for stoppayments,yeah it cost me 150 bucks for 5 checks ouch...

The question I meant to ask is about the the time that I am not physically present in US i.e. If I went for vacction in India for a month, can that one month be included in my H1B1 extension since I was not physically present in US. In other words I would file for 1.1 year extension as opposed to 1 year
One the same topic, a friend of mine got a three year extension post 6 years of H1B. When asked, his lawyer informed, if you have an approved I140 then you are elegible for 3 years extension as opposed to 1 year. Is this true. Can some refer to the right CFR's

My lawyer says that her status is AOS from nowonwards. Even I can change job, that dosen't cause any issues for her 485, she says. What do you guys think? I want to change job. Also, I have read from some other forum, it would be good to work for the sponsoring company for 6 to 1 year after get the gc.
